In the opening sequence, Othello and Desdemona, lying in a grave, are carried in a spectacular procession to their grave. Hanging above the action is Iago, imprisoned in a cage, being dragged up the battlements of the castle. Then the plot, in fact, repeats the plot of the classical play (Othello).
