Charolette Vale is an unattractive middle-aged lady. He has a nervous breakdown due to the behavior of the dominant mother. He goes to a psychiatric hospital. There, she transforms into an elegant, independent lady. During a cruise to South America, she has an affair with a married man, Jerry Durrance. This causes a conflict with the mother. After having an argument with Charlotte, her mother dies of a heart attack. Vale is taken back to the sanatorium, where he meets Jerry's daughter, whom he has since taken care of.
