Secure Device Server SN3402 is an external IP-based network device that securely connects legacy RS-232/422/485 serial devices to an Ethernet network and enables remote access from any computer.

SN3402 is particularly suitable for industrial process control applications, as Supervision Data Acquisition and Control Systems (SCADA) are widely used in many industries to collect data from APIs, measuring instruments, and sensors via serial interfaces. The SN3402 translates data bidirectionally between serial and Ethernet formats and provides access to data from all data acquisition devices from local and remote locations over an Ethernet network.

The SN3402 has several useful operating modes. It supports secure TCP server/client modes, secure serial tunnel server/client, secure Real COM and console management for security-critical applications, such as telecommunications, access control, and remote site management.

The SN3402 can be used as a standard Modbus gateway to convert between Modbus-TCP and Modbus-RTU/ASCII protocols.
- 2 x RS-232/422/485 serial ports for secure serial data transmission over Ethernet
- Termination (120) and pull high/low resistance (1K ohm or 150K ohm) configurable by software and integrated into RS-485 mode, to avoid signal reflections
- Secure Operating Modes - Secure Real COM, TCP Server/Secure Client, Tunneling Serial/Secure Client, Console Management (SSH) and Direct Console Management (SSH)
- Standard Operating Modes - Real COM, TCP Server/Client, Tunneling Serial/Client Server, UDP, Console Management (Telnet) and Direct Console Management (Telnet)
- Real COM, Real TTY and Fixed TTY drivers for Windows, Linux and UNIX
- Convenient access to console management via Java Viewer (SSH/Telnet) or third-party clients like PuTTY
- Easy access to the console port via Java Viewer and Sun Solaris ready ("break-safe")
- Multiple users can simultaneously access the same port - up to 16 connections per port
- Supports Modbus gateway for conversion between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols.
