Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC. Application software can access the USB device in the same way as it would access a standard COM port. The Meade LX200 RJ12 PC USB interface cable allows the MEADE LX200, LX400, LX600 Autostar II telescopes to be connected to the USB port of a PC compatible with the control with Meade software. It is designed to control your computerized telescope from a PC through various planetarium programs, it is connected to the USB port of the computer and to the RS232 port (RJ12 connector) located on the MEADE LX200 mount. Unlike the standard Meade #507 cable, compatible with the Meade LX200 RJ12 USB PC interface cable, a serial port adapter is not required.
Optionally, instead of this cable, you can use wireless adapters AutoFi LX200 or AutoBt LX200.
